Time Heart Recipient and Touring Pro Golfer, Erik Compton gives NBA Star and Kidney Recipient, Alonzo Mourning Golf Lessons
Golf Channel films 2 professional athletes/transplant recipients for a 30 minute segment
Aventura, FL (April 23, 2009) Avid golfers and NBA fanatics get ready to watch a 30 minute segment on Golf Channel, September 21st at 8pm featuring 2-Time Heart Recipient and Touring Pro Golfer, Erik Compton and NBA Star and Kidney Recipient, Alonzo Mourning.
The athletes got together on Thursday, April 23rd at the Turnberry Isles Resort and Club in Aventura, FL. Compton and Mourning started the afternoon with some practice swings at the range and continued on to play five holes. It was obvious by watching these two playing on the golf course that they had a connection. They were not only athletes playing but two men who had been faced with needing a transplant to live.
Alonzo and Erik shared many laughs on the golf course as Erik gave Zo some pointers and things did not always go as planned. It was nothing more than a friendly day at the course with two professionals showing their strength and athleticism.
Grateful for being given a second chance at life these two athletes shared a bond and came together in an effort to bring organ donor awareness. Alonzo Mourning and Erik Compton are the voices for the “Donate Organs. Pass it On.” Specialty License Plate and encourage all to purchase the plate and display it on their vehicles.
