Partners Golf Tournament brings in Over 85 Players at Shula’s Golf Club
Proceeds from event assist Transplant Foundation & Kiwanis of Miami Beach’s mission
Miami Lakes, FL.—As individuals got ready to start their weekend on Friday, April 24th, Florida golf enthusiast teed off under a bright shiny sun for the 22nd Annual Partners Golf Tournament hosted by the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association at Shula’s Golf Club, Miami Lakes.
“At a very difficult economic time, it was great to have 84 players participate and raise over $30,000. Proceeds raised from this tournament supported the Transplant Foundation and the Kiwanis of Miami Beach,” added Eli Compton, Executive Director for the Transplant Foundation.
2-time heart recipient and touring pro golfer, Erik Compton was on-site and was honored by the Greater Miami and The Beaches Hotel Association for his achievements. “It’s important for individuals to know that they can make a difference in a person’s life by participating in charity events,” commented Erik. “Their assistance grants the Foundation with the opportunity to continue providing education to the community about the importance of organ donation and provide aid to those patients who need it most.”
A total of 84 golfers in foursomes competed for the winning title in over 18 holes as volunteers provided on-site refreshments throughout the day. Entrance fee for the tournament started at $250 per individual, which included a lunch and buffet dinner, a best ball scramble tournament and a hole-in-one prize from Audi. In addition, NBC 6 Reporter, Roxanne Vargas, alongside Judge Stan Blake gave golfers a chance to cast their bids in a live and silent auction, which included sports memorabilia, spectacular weekend getaways and Taylor Made golf clubs.
The top three winning teams were given trophies and prizes of $150 gas gift cards and golf clubs were given to special event winners.
