Erik Compton Takes Up 2 Pre-Transplant Patients on the Goodyear Blimp to Bring Organ Donor Awareness

On Wednesday, April 15 2009, two individuals awaiting a transplant were given the opportunity to ride the Goodyear Blimp with 2-time Heart Transplant Recipient and Touring Pro Golfer, Erik Compton. The blimp took off from the Goodyear Blimp Base at Pompano Beach Air Park at 10am.

The two individuals chosen to go up with Erik and his family were Jasmine Maddox and Zuyani Bernal. Jasmine and Maddox were extremely excited to go up the blimp and feel as free as a bird.

They were very grateful for the opportunity to ride and speak to the community on behalf of all individuals awaiting a transplant. Erik, Jasmine and Bernal were each interviewed by the media and each expressed their gratitude to the community and encouraged all to become organ donors.

The Transplant Foundation would like to thank Goodyear for allowing us to participate in such a spectacular and memorable event.
