Transplant House

Transplant House’s mission is to offer an affordable, comfortable, supportive and convenient safe haven to all guests and visitors.

Transplant House is designed to provide temporary, affordable accommodation to pre and post transplant patients, their family members and care providers who need to be within close proximity to the hospital.

The original Transplant House, which opened in July of 2002, is located on the UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital grounds. It offers 13 spacious kitchenette suites (two wheelchair accessible), a complimentary washer/dryer area and the “Common Room” where guests can gather to interact with one another.
Our trained staff—mostly comprised of transplant recipients and family members of recipients—understand these are difficult times for the guests and are dedicated to offer every possible consideration during their stay.

Transplant House’s financial success is derived from contributions, planned gifts and fundraising. Our goal is to raise $5 million dollars to underwrite an expansion of the facility, which will include 20 studio-style apartments, ideal for longer stays.

The newest undertaking is Transplant House Broward, which will be located on the Broward General Hospital campus and will offer similar amenities as the original Transplant House. There will be 16 spacious kitchenette suites, with complimentary washer/dryer area, common room, communal kitchen, computer room and tranquil Japanese garden with pond.

Future plans for Transplant House Broward include groundbreaking before the end of the year. Additional updates to follow.
