Transplant Foundation's Miracle Walk/Run Brings in Fun, Sun and Lots of Funds!!

On what turned out to be a beautiful South Florida day in the fall, more than 550 participants walked/ran the trails at Zoo Miami on November 19th to raise funds for Transplant Foundation's cause of raising organ donation awareness and assisting transplant patients. 

Michael Frankel took the Miracle Walker prize, a 7 day Alaska Cruise courtesy of Royal Caribbean International. Mr. Frankel  and his team Kinnick's Kadets raised a total of ten thousand dollars. 

This year, Cynthia Demos, morning and noon co-anchor for CBS4 and Honorary Chair of the event for a 4th time, MC'd the event with her 10 month old baby. Recipients and organ donor families were honored before being led to the track by Mrs. Demos herself.

 "This year's event was a huge success. We surpassed our goal of seventy-five thousand dollars and brought in over eighty-two thousand dollars thanks to the amazing support of our community, event committee and staff." said Eli Compton, Executive Director of Transplant Foundation.   
 
"Transplant Foundation is proud to see how much this event has grown and most importantly how engaged it's community has gotten with it. We surely look forward to expanding it in the future." says Julissa Fernandez, Special Events Manager for the foundation.
